India's economy has been growing strongly. New jobs bring new issues to deal with, such as Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) from office work.
Dr Deepak Sharan, medical director of the RECOUP Neuromusculoskeletal Rehabilitation Centre has found that the Alexander Technique is very beneficial for the prevention and recovery of RSI. As there are no resident Alexander Technique teachers in India, he invites certified teachers to work at RECOUP.
I have always been very curious about the Sub-Continent. India is so colourful.
When I first heard about the opportunity to see India while working in Bangalore I got very excited. Upon being invited, I decided to spend 5 weeks in Bangalore in January and February 2007. Thereafter I will visit Rajasthan. I am sure it will be a very enriching experience, both from a professional as well as a personal point of view.
The aim of this blog is to give my personal perspective of colourful India, of the booming city of Bangalore and of some key learnings about the positive effect of the Alexander Technique on RSI.
